About Me
Hello! I am Fiona Morris, Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor, Founder and Owner of the Physiotherapy and Pilates Company and mum to two young children and an occasional runner, although not always in that order.
I graduated from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. Initially, I worked for NHS Lothian gaining experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient specialities before moving overseas along with my husband in 2012.
Following the birth of our daughter in 2013, whilst living in Denmark, I developed an interest in women’s health, particularly in the pregnancy and postpartum periods. This resulted in me starting my own Physiotherapy company, FitMums in Denmark. I provided specialist pregnancy and postnatal exercise and education classes as well as a support network for new mums. At this time I also developed an interest in Pilates and commenced my matwork training. This interest in Pilates continued to develop and I am now an APPI Certified Matwork Pilates Instructor as well as completing further training in Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates, Pilates for Children and Young People and Pilates and the Pelvic Floor.
Family life kept myself and my family on the move over the next few years and I continued to develop my business whilst living in Kuwait and Vietnam providing Pilates classes for expats and their children. Whilst living in Ho CHi Minh City I was fortunate to receive the opportunity to provide physiotherapy services and support for Little Feather Foundation a charity which provides palliative care for Vietnamese children with terminal and life limiting conditions. Although, at times this was challenging, it was also extremely rewarding and taught me a lot about myself.
Since returning to the UK in June 2018 I have continued to grow The Physiotherapy and Pilates Company by teaching a mix of Pilates classes throughout Aberdeenshire as well as progressing my women’s health physiotherapy services through my passion for quality pregnancy and postnatal care. My main focus now is in helping women to safely return to exercise and achieve their fitness goals postpartum whether that be to run a marathon or simply to be able to play with their baby or children without pain or limitations.
